How To Get Your Licence Back

If your disqualification is for 56 days or more your licence will have been taken by the Court and sent to DVLA in Swansea. You may apply for it to be returned to you shortly before or after the disqualification period finishes. A form for this is obtainable from the Post Office;-D.1 "Application For A New Driving Licence"

NOTE IT IS ADVISABLE THAT YOU DO NOT DRIVE UNTIL YOUR LICENCE IS BACK IN YOUR POSSESSION

If your disqualification is for less than 56 days your licence will be returned to you from the Court but it is suspended until the end of the period of disqualification. You may start driving as soon as the period of disqualification ends.
